Description
This 23-minute training provides an overview of methamphetamine, including its history, the various forms, and the common methods of use. It will also cover the short and long-term health effects and ways to identify a meth overdose. Lastly, a list of local resources is available for support and recovery, allowing participants to connect individuals with appropriate treatment and resources.
This training plays a significant role in prevention, early intervention, and reducing stigma. By educating the public about the dangers of methamphetamine, it can reduce the likelihood of drug initiation and promote healthier lifestyles. When individuals can recognize the signs of methamphetamine use, it allows for the opportunity of early intervention which can improve the chances of recovery. Lastly, by providing accurate information that’s not driven in scare tactics, it helps combat misconceptions and stigmas surrounding methamphetamine use which fosters a more supportive environment for those seeking help.

- Describe two ways that you can assist your loved one with receiving assistance for substance use disorder

This training is appropriate for administrative and support staff in agencies that provide substance use, behavioral health, and other social services.

This online course uses a mixed-media format with PowerPoint slides, voice-overs, and closed captions.
Process
Participants will read and/or listen to the material presented in the slides. At the end of the training, participants must obtain at least 80% as a passing score for the completion of this training and receive CE credits. CE certificate or certificate of attendance will be available for printing upon completion.
