Description
In this training, participants will learn about the various risk factors and challenges associated with addressing youth with substance use disorders. Adolescents differ from adults developmentally and therefore, require developmentally appropriate responses to their issues. Motivational Interviewing and Brief Intervention are effective methods in promoting change in adolescents while circumventing resistance. The combination of Motivational Interviewing and the Brief Intervention have been shown to be effective in reducing risk substance use behaviors and promoting behavior change.
