Expanding Part 2 Compliant SUD Data Exchange: SAPC's Release of Information (ROI) Forms

SAPC updated the Release of Information (ROI) forms for the SAPC specialty substance use disorder (SUD) provider network to align with the Final Rule changes to 42 CFR Part 2 and support compliant sharing of SUD information while maintaining all applicable federal and state confidentiality protections. This training identifies the three (3) new SAPC ROI Forms and the process by which to utilize the forms. This training discusses the paper ROI forms which is beneficial for downtime procedures or if a provider is unable to access PCNX and must use the paper ROI.  

Through use cases and knowledge checks, participants will identify common scenarios to utilize the new SAPC ROI Forms including identifying which form to use.  

Learning Objectives

  1. Distinguish between the three (3) updated types of Releases of Information (ROI) forms. 
  2. Differentiate between the requirements for client consent under 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA, included permitted disclosures and re-disclosures once client consent is obtained.  
  3. Demonstrate which ROI form to use in three (3) example scenarios.

Intended Audience
This training is intended for SAPC Treatment Providers and should be attended by intake staff, care managers, all clinical staff, operations staff and administrators.

Format
This online course uses a mixed-media format with PowerPoint slides, voice-overs, and closed captions. 

Process
Participants will read and/or listen to the material presented in the slides. At the end of the training, participants must obtain at least 80% as a passing score for the completion of this training and receive Certificate of attendance. Certificate of attendance will be available for printing upon completion.
